Audi should be embarrassed for being unable to perform ’over the air’ software updates like Tesla, Ford, GM etc. I brought my E-tron GT in for a ‘2 hour software update’ which took Audi a full 5 days to complete. The service technicians were stumped for 4 days until they finally figured out how to complete the update.

Dossy. 93 posts · Joined 2017. #9 · Apr 12, 2018. i got a copy of the 2017 maps off the internet and burnt to disc myself. so yeah, cheapy CD's off ebay should be fine. also, if you get hold of the 3 CD's for the firmware update they include the earlier 'step' update and the 5570 update, so you just do them in order and bobs your uncle.

Slow but done - vag-com to get back the battery level. Create the video from start to finish with every stage- the time to take is the time on the MMI starts to the time MMI ends.
from reading on the a5 forum if you update the firmware it locks your maps and you have to activate them again, as you tried to do your update perhaps its just written the firmware again (same version) and due to this needs to activate the maps hence locking you out.. this is the whole reason i have not done it myself, too scared to loose my maps and never had the software from dealers to
